In a spirit of Christian solidarity, civic responsibility, and service to the nation, the United Methodist Church in Burundi has donated medicines, medical supplies, and personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Ministry of Public Health and the Fight Against AIDS as part of the national response to the cholera outbreak.

The donated materials are intended to strengthen the capacity of epidemic treatment centers across the country, directly benefiting the most vulnerable populations. This act reflects the Church’s biblical vision, rooted in compassion and service, as expressed in the Holy Scriptures: “I was sick and you visited me” (Matthew 25:36). Through this gesture, the Church reaffirms its calling to support life, relieve suffering, and uphold human dignity.

In his remarks, Emmanuel Sinzohagera praised the remarkable work carried out by the Ministry of Health in preventing and managing cholera cases. He also welcomed the strong collaboration between the Government of Burundi and the Church, emphasizing that this partnership serves as a model of constructive cooperation for the common good.
