On June12, 2025, during a meeting chaired by his Excellency Emmanuel Sinzohagera, the Resident of Burundi- Rwanda episcopal area, following his visit to the MUREHE Health centre and MUREHE Guest House, both under construction, leaders from MUREHE and GISURU districts gathered in the premises of Murehe Parish to reflect on three Key topics:
- How to build an emerging and shining Church
- Their Expectations on the Newly Elected Bishop
- Information on Regionalization and ratification process

Referring to the scripture from Isaiah 60:1, Bishop Emmanuel Sinzohagera confirmed that the time to shine for the UMC in Burundi has come. “Though we went through difficult time in past, this is time to repair hearts and restore unity in the church because together will be strong, divide will fail”, added the resident Bishop.
On the topic of Church shining, the Bishop emphasized the importance of exemplary leadership. “A good leader must be a light, a role model, and a pillar of positive transformation”, urged the bishop. He called leaders to stand firmly against immoral practices, and financial misconduct. He stressed the importance of opening a local church’s bank account for depositing collected funds as a way to ensure financial transparency and protection.

Furthermore, the Conference Secretary shared information about regionalization and oriented delegates on ratification process during the conference session scheduled for August 6-9, 2025.
