His Excellency the President of the Republic of Burundi Evariste NDAYISHIMIYE and First Lady Angeline NDAYISHIMIYE on March 17, 2024 shared Sunday service with the congregation of the United Methodist Church, Burundi Annual Conference in St. Peter’s Cathedral of GITEGA in political capital city.

After a warm welcome to Excellencies and guests of honor by Dean of Superintendents, the Rt. Honorable Reverend Emmanuel SINZOHAGERA briefed about church life where he mentioned different church engagement to the public needs including services such as: creation of health centres, hospitals, Schools , accommodation for the needs , commercial buildings and premises, agricultural and livestock husbandry sectors where the beneficiaries are all community that are in the vicinity of that area regardless of their church or religious affiliations.

The Rt. Honorable thanked the government of Burundi for every good cooperation that Government leaders has been providing in supporting various development sectors in the church so far.
His Excellency the President of the Republic of Burundi Evariste NDAYISHIMIYE reminded the Christians to get prepared in bringing about a peaceful transformation of Burundi’s economy and socio-economic institution for a better future for Burundi’s generation.
H.E. memory verse was chosen from Job 14:7, “FOR THERE IS HOPE OF THE TREE, IF IT BE CUT DOWN, THAT IT WILL SPRING UP AGAIN, AND THAT ITS TENDER BRANCH WILL NOT CEASE”.
The president reminded the Burundians not to be discouraged on the past situation the country went through, instead the citizen should work hard and pray for Burundi to continue to be a nation of peace, love, unity and development.
He told the Christians present that Burundi has already reached a good stage of development compared to the past and that it is up to all citizens to focus on the future with confidence.
His Excellency, insisted that the citizen need to rely on God who created humans with a lot of potential in them. He said, “Burundians need to take action and be creative enough with clear visions as we serve God’s people and the country”. He reminded Christians present to double their efforts and work more vigorously so that good and valuable services rendered can be clearly witnessed by everyone in Burundi and the whole world at large.
The Sunday sermon was delivered by the Rt. Honorable Rev. Dr. Emmanuel SINZOHAGERA from Galatians 6:7, “BE NOT DECEIVED: GOD IS NOT MOCKED: FOR WHATSOEVER A MAN SOWETH, THAT SHALL HE ALSO REAP”. He said, “There is hope for those who sow because they will reap and in everything we do, let us obey the word of God”. He warned those who want to reap what they did not sow.
He told the congregation to do what God wants them to do and as Christians they should take responsibility to fulfill God’s will.
