On June 26, 2025, the United Methodist Church of Burundi inaugurated a new borehole system installed in Muyange local church, Bujumbura District in Buganda Commune. It is enabled by funding from UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) and GBGM (General Board of Global Ministries) to address the urgent need for clean drinking water in Bumbiri II, a locality severely affected by the 2023 floods that destroyed existing infrastructure.
